The PTA is bringing the FUN RUN back to the Grove! Sponsorships for the 2012 FUN RUN t-shirt are now available.
Last year's FUN RUN was so successful, "thanks to all our Walnut Grove Friends and Families," that the PTA decided to forgo the auction this year and have a FUN RUN again this year. The 2012 FUN RUN will take place on May 4th with the participation of all WG students, staff and our principal, Mr. Vranesh! This special fund-raising event helps our school afford programs not fully funded by the state, encourage healthy habits for our children and show our school spirit. It is also a fantastic opportunity for your business to sponsor our school. Over 500 Pleasanton families are a part of the Walnut Grove Family. For the event, we will be printing 800 t-shirts, one for every student and staff member of WG. Your logo will appear in one color on the back of the t-shirt. Cost of the sponsorships start at $150 for a single block, $250 and $500. Additionally your company logo will appear on signage promoting our event and on the pledge form for the event. For more information please contact Becca Jorgenson jorgr2000@yahoo.com or Janet Grell janetgrell@comcast.net or click here to download an information sheet. |
 | The time is now to
transform our public schools Update on the PTA-supported Our Children, Our Future statewide education initiative. | The most urgent crisis facing California schools is that they simply don't have the resources to provide our children with the education they need.
That is why the California State PTA supports the Our Children, Our Future initiative, which will transform our public schools by generating a substantial amount of new revenues for K-12 schools and early childhood education.
Other initiatives have also been proposed for the November 2012 statewide ballot, but we believe Our Children, Our Future is clearly the best for students and public education.
We are moving full-steam ahead and helping to qualify and pass this initiative in November 2012.
All PTA members and leaders are encouraged to join the effort to qualify and pass the Our Children, Our Future initiative.
For a more complete update on the initiative, please click here.

All Community Members and Educators Welcome to a FREE Movie Screening The University of Phoenix College of Education is hosting a free screening of the documentary Mitchell20: Teacher Quality is the Answer. Along the way, the teachers at Mitchell have encountered no shortage of drama in and out of the school. The Mitchell 20 is a story of teachers and schools everywhere. There will be a panel discussion following the screening. View the trailer for the film at www.mitchell20.org. RSVP for the event at http://baycoefilm.eventbrite.com.
