If you have missed any of the PTA's Roadrunner newsletters over the summer or the messages from our principal, you can access them in our newsletter archives. And then sign up for our Walnut Grove mailing list to make sure you receive news from our school. We also recommend signing up to receive school district messages via the Pleasanton school district's E-Connection.
See the Walnut Grove school website for information about this year's bell schedule and Back-to School Night on Thursday, Aug. 28.
Thank you to our Walk-Through Registration volunteers!
A HUGE thank-you to the many, many amazing volunteers and Walnut Grove staff who helped out with Walk-Through Registration on Wednesday, Aug. 25! Thank you also to our wonderful custodians, Mr. Mike and Ms. Nubia, for helping us set up and clean up the MPR. And a special thank-you to PTA Executive Vice President Jen Skinner, who planned and oversaw the whole process, and Walnut Grove parent Darian Shimy, who created the online registration website for the entire Pleasanton Unified School District!
If you missed Walk-Through Registration, you will need to finish your student's fall registration (e.g., showing proof of residency and updating your student's emergency card) at the Walnut Grove school office. Please contact the office staff (925-426-4250) if you have questions.
If you didn't get a chance during the online registration process or at Walk-Through Registration, you can still join the PTA and donate to our Dollar-a-Day annual campaign. Please contact Julie Kenney for membership questions and Kym Gentry-Peck for questions about Dollar-a-Day.
We need your help!
Our Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) is dedicated to empowering parents to make a difference in the education, health, and safety of students at Walnut Grove. Please help make our school the best it can be by joining PTA today.
We would also like to encourage families to make a annual donation of $1 a day for every day of school through our "Dollar a Day" campaign. That is just $180 per student (or $250 per family) for the entire year. But any amount is very much appreciated and will be put to good use. When you contribute to Dollar a Day, 100% of your donation will support our students here at the Grove.
Through donations, your PTA supports the classrooms and many programs at Walnut Grove.
Events that are hosted or sponsored by PTA include the following:
Walnut Grove PTA is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization (tax ID: 02-0547233). Contributions to Walnut Grove PTA are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by the IRS. Please check with your accountant at tax time.
Many employers match their employees' tax-deductible contributions for worthy causes. Please check with your employers to see if they will match your donation! You can sometimes apply for matching funds online through your company's intranet. Or contact Kym Gentry-Peck for assistance in filling out your company's forms.
We are grateful for all the help and money that Walnut Grove parents give to better our children's education. We have partnered with our teachers and staff to make Walnut Grove one of the top public schools in the state. Education funding from the state continues to be low, so our school depends on community support to ensure that our students continue to thrive in a wonderful learning atmosphere.
