Breakfast Book Club

Join the fun with the Walnut Grove Breakfast Book Club (BBC)!

Our club meets on 7 Wednesday mornings throughout the year from 8:15 - 9:00 AM.
Members get to share breakfast together and then take part in fun discussions in small groups led by trained, volunteer parent leaders. All students from 1st to 5th grade are eligible to register.
Registration occurs during back-to-school registration. Number of members is limited to available space and volunteers.
Younger siblings of parent discussion leaders and substitutes when leading are able to attend the BBC Kids'Club.

Our BBC Leaders are Louise McGeown, Lisa Williams, Trina Willardson and Cindy Harrington.

Garden Club

The Walnut Grove Student Garden is open to all students during their lunch recess every Tuesday. Students are invited to help in the garden by weeding, watering, planting, harvesting, and tasting.

We always appreciate help from other parents to direct and help the children.  If your child comes to the garden regularly, please consider helping out a couple times this year. No garden experience is required, and we do not expect a weekly commitment!

For more information, please contact Candee Banman or Kim McCoy.

Math Club

The Math Club is an after-school activity for 4th and 5th grade students who love to compete and have fun by challenging themselves with difficult math concepts, while applying critical thinking in complex problems. Students take five Math Olympiad tests from November through March.

The Math Club meets two Wednesdays a month from 3:10 to 4:00 pm. For more information, please contact Manisha Chawla.

Run Club

The Run Club meets every Friday morning at 7:30 am, beginning with the first week of school. All grades are welcome, and moms, dads, and even grandparents are encouraged to join in the fun.

Participants stretch for a few minutes at the beginning of each club meeting and then spend 20 minutes running and walking around the blue line on the playground. At the end, each person's laps are recorded. Fun charms are given for distance running, as well as for attendance.

The Run Club participants gather at the picnic tables near the garden. (Note: Run Club meetings are cancelled in the event of rain.)
